Privacy Policy for Watch
Last updated: March 17, 2026
Watch is a free social video player that lets users open video links, play local media, and synchronize playback between devices in a shared room.
Watch currently does not require user registration or account creation.
1. Information We Collect
Depending on how you use the app, Watch may process the following technical data:
- temporary device identifiers used for room and playback synchronization;
- room identifiers, invite tokens, and waiter/claim tokens;
- video source URLs or local media metadata necessary to start playback;
- playback state data such as pause/play status, position, duration, and selected source type;
- basic diagnostic and error information needed to keep playback working.
Watch does not currently collect account profiles, passwords, payment data, or traditional personal profile information because the service does not provide user accounts.
2. How We Use Information
We use the processed data only to operate the app and its core features, including:
- creating and joining playback rooms;
- synchronizing playback between participants;
- opening shared video links and local media;
- showing QR codes and invite links;
- maintaining connection stability and troubleshooting playback issues.
3. Cameras, Microphones, and Local Files
If you choose to use features that rely on the camera, microphone, QR scanning, or opening local files, Watch will access those resources only after permission is granted by you or your device settings.
Local files and device media are used only to provide playback and streaming features selected by you.
4. Data Sharing
Watch shares only the minimum room and playback information required for synchronized playback with other participants in the same room and with the backend infrastructure that supports the service.
Watch does not sell personal data and does not use personal data for advertising personalization.
5. Data Retention
Room state, technical session data, and temporary identifiers may be stored for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain room continuity, and diagnose errors. Data that is no longer needed may be deleted or rotated according to operational requirements.
6. Children’s Privacy
Watch is not specifically directed to children. If you believe that information has been submitted to Watch inappropriately, please contact the operator of the service.
7. Security
Reasonable technical and organizational measures may be used to protect service data. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
8. International Use
If you use Watch from outside the country where its infrastructure is operated, your technical data may be processed in other jurisdictions where applicable law may differ.
9. Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The current version will be published at the page where this policy is made available.
